Concreep 11+

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update: Organizer Letter

Dear Authors,

First of all, I would like to thank you for submitting an abstract for the ConCreep11+ conference.

At this time, however, I am writing to inform you that ConCreep11+ is postponed to next year (2021).

This decision was necessary due the evolving situation associated with the covid19 pandemic. As you may have heard, we have now two covid19 diagnosed cases on the Evanston Northwestern Campus and, consequently, all the campus events are suspended until further notice.

While it is very likely that everything will be back to normal in July, the current uncertainty prevents us to ensure a proper organization of the conference.

Thank you again and best regards,

Gianluca Cusatis

CONCREEP 11+ will be held at Northwestern University on its Evanston Campus on 15-17 July 2020. Join us to learn about the latest cutting edge research on creep and deterioration of concrete, rock, and soil, while enjoying views of the Lake Michigan and of the Chicago skyline. We guarantee three days of unforgettable scientific and social interaction among students, young researchers, practitioners, and leaders in the field.

Since 1956, the CONCREEP conference series has remained the key meeting for physicists, mechanicians, and engineers to present and debate research results and discoveries on the time-dependent behavior of concrete.

For its 11th edition, the conference will be “plus”, CONCREEP 11+, as it will also include discussions  of the time-dependent behavior of geomaterials. This will provide an unprecendented opportunity for inter-disciplinary learning and sharing.

The program will feature high profile plenary speakers, selected oral presentations, and poster sessions covering all aspects of the time-dependent behavior of concrete and geomaterials at multiple length and time scales: from the behavior of CSH gel in concrete and kerogen pockets in shale to the deformation of tall buildings and gas/oil reservoirs.
