Dr. Pichler holds an Associate Professor position at the Institute for Mechanics of Materials and Structures, which is part of the Civil Engineering Department at Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien) in Austria, Europe. After his Master degree (1999) and PhD degree (2003) at TU Wien, spent 18 months at Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC), ParisTech, France, carrying out research and teaching in the field of “Mechanics”. Dr. Pichler completed his habilitation at TU Wien in 2009, providing him with the “venia docendi” in the fields of “Strength of Materials” and “Structural Analysis”. Dr. Pichler is a member of ASCE, ACI and ACerS. Dr. Pichler is known for his research results on theoretical, analytical and numerical multiscale material modeling of cementitious materials, in connection with innovative experimental methods, and for his expertise in the structural simulation of building structures made of unreinforced and reinforced concrete.
